Identification
20–23 cm (7¾-9 in)
- Green overall plumage
- Bluish-grey head
- Eye pale yellow
- Bill with greyish base and yellow tip
- Bluish-grey patches on shoulder and wing
- Large purple patch on belly
- Undertail to lower belly yellow
Distribution
Endemic to Indonesia: found in northern Moluccas (Morotai, Halmahera, Bacan, Tidore and Ternate)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
They can be found in woods and forests, including secondary forests.
Behaviour
Flocks of around 20 and more birds recorded.
Diet
Their diet appears to consists mostly of fruit.
