Identification
30–38 cm
- Slate-grey upperparts
Distribution
South-east Asia: found in New Guinea, Aru Islands, D'Entrecasteaux Archipelago and Louisiade Archipelago.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Tropical rainforest.
Behaviour
Seems to have a distinct display where "It perched upright on top of a tree and turned on itself while it was vocalizing and stretching vertically its wings in fast movements."
Diet
Not a lot has been recorded, but their diet appears to consist of lizards, small snakes and insects. Also small birds caught up in mist nets.
