    Greenfinches

Just spotted a flock of 8 greenfinches in the garden. They all landed together in a tree. Most I have ever seen together, and the first I have seen for a long time. Seems they have managed to survive the devistating disease that depleated their numbers of the last few years.

    Glasses wearers

Fair comment Hermann, but my eyes, like a lot of others are just fading through old age, and the focus on the scope or binaculars works just as well as any reading galsses you can buy off the shelf at Boots.

    Glasses wearers

I wear glasses, but find it so much easier to use the focus on my scope without them !! Therefore why do so many people talk about using glasses with their scopes? Just flip them up to the top of your head befor looking!! Surely if you can see clearly through your scope \ binaculars without them...

    Red Kite

Hi I live on Gower in south Wales (U.K.) We have lots of red kites here since they were re-introduced some years ago, and have thrived due to feeding stations in mid Wales. They have spread all over the area.

    Nikon 40x WDS eyepiece

Hi Has anyone got a Nikon 40x WDS eyepiece, and how good is it? There is one for sale for £145 on a well known auction sight, and I am tempted to buy it. I have got a Nikon ED 82 which will give me 50x magnification with this eyepiece. All comments gladly recieved.

Yes mine does the same, but it does not effect the veiw. If you only pull it part way out is it O.K. Must be a design fault ?

    Nikon ED82

Hi Got the new tripod today and the head was a bit wobbly, but there is a ring screw which adjusts the tention on the head which has to be turned until it is just free to pan without any wobble; this screw will also lock it in place when fully tightened !! The tripod is very stable and supports...

    Nikon ED82

Hi John I took Hermann's advice and kept the ED 60 as well. The two eyepeices work great on both scopes. I will use the ED 82 from my house and carry the ED 60 when out and about.

    Nikon ED82

Hi Hermann Thanks for your advice. I took it, and removed my add from the sale. You are so right. the ED 60 is a great little scope, and the zoom lens is fantastic. Also the 30x eyepeice on the ED82 works realy well with the ED 60, and visa versa. Thanks again Neil
