Yellow-rumped Warbler
This is a male in breeding plumage. The name "coronata" refers to the usually concealed yellow crown patch. This is the nominate Eastern form "S. c. coronata" ("S. c. hooveri" is a synonym) formerly known as "Myrtle Warbler" showing its white throat. It is still treated as a separate species by IOC, but lumped with "Audubon's Warbler" by Clements and AOS based on extensive hybridization in their zone of contact in the Southern Canadian Rockies. Both forms winter in California. Formerly placed in the genus "Dendroica."
