Texas Rat Snake (Elaphe obsoleta lindheimeri: Colubridae) This snake was ca. 1.5 m (5.0 ft) long. It was hanging out in a black willow tree (Salix nigra) along the margin of a wet oxbow.
Habitat
Lions Club Park, bottomland, open park with a small oxbow, adjacent to a pecan grove with a number of other deciduous species of scattered trees at 147 m elevation.
Location
Lions Club Park, Temple, Bell County, Texas, USA.

Excellent find and shot of this wonderful reptile! I would have taken it as a baby python!
