Stacked firewood (Pandanus)

.... well maybe that's what you think it looks like, but it's actually the roots of the tree, which is a species of Pandanus.

I spotted it as we left the hide where I was looking at the Glass House Mountains.

Those roots look so similar to the roots on some orchid plants in my office bldg. Quite amazing D.
 
Had one in the garden at the edge of the driveway and had to cut it out. Roots were coming down everywhere .
