Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia)

Still not sure of the bird ID here, could possibly be a Belding's sparrow perhaps ?
The song sparrows in my bird book look more brown than this.
Habitat
Bushes and scrub
Location
San Elijio, CA
Date taken
Feb 2007
Scientific name
Melospiza melodia
Equipment used

This is a very nice photo. But, The ID is incorrect. This is a Song Sparrow. For the following points: 1) primary wing coverts sould almost white producing a pronounced pannel in the wing. 2) The legs should be much darker. 3) the streaking in the chest and breast should not be inverted chevrons but diffuse streaks much like in a house finch 4) the beak should be larger and husky 5) overal bird should be larger) and though Lark Buntings have been recorded in San Diego, it is very rare. Good image of Melospiza melodia.

Colin,

This is such an awsome photo! I have never taken anything close to this good. This is my favorite one in this gallery.

I do have to concur with digishooter on the ID.

Thanks for the correction Digishooter, to be honest I was at a loss trying to id this bird, I thought it may be a song sparrow but my bird book images looked different from the markings on this bird.
John, thanks for the kind words pal.
