Serin
This chap flew into a tree just ahead of us and at first we thought it was a yellowhammer. However, when we got a clear view we could see that it wasn't and our first thought was Serin. Can anyone confirm this is correct?

I can't help because I hardly ever see Yellowhammers, let alone Serins. It is an excellent shot of a lovely bird though Brian.

Splendid shot Brian and it looks like a Serin to me, glad you are having a profitable time in the Loire - I wouldn't bother coming back here - it is cold and miserable and going to get worse!!!

He's beautiful Brian. I've only had a brief glimpse of one of the before.

A lovely shot.

We don't get serins up here, but I agree it looks a bit "off" for a yellowhammer. Lovely shot!
