Sanderling (Calidris alba) Sexes similar. Sanderlings in various stages of molt from winter plumage to breeding plumage. San Luis Pass, Brazoria County, Texas, USA. Situated on the south-western end of Galveston Island, barrier island. Gulf of Mexico on the exposed side and West Bay on the sheltered side elevation ca. 1 m (3.3 ft).

Wonderful capture Stanley, really shows the variable colours, no doubt as they move from non breeding to breeding plumage, such an interesting period to observe.
