Rufous-collared Sparrow
Rufous-collared Sparrow (Zonotrichia capensis costaricensis) Thirty subspecies have been described with 25-28 subspecies being recognized. Two subspecies are mapped for Panama. Subspecies orestera is mapped for Central Panama southwest to Cerro Campana in Panama Province, Panama. Subspecies costaricensis is the only subspecies mapped for northwest Panama. Photographed in Cerro Punta, Chiriqui Province, Panama. Urban setting at ca. 2,000 m (6,500 ft). Sexes similar.
