Red-striped Ribbon Snake (Thamnophis proximus subsp. rubrilineatus: Colubridae) attempting to eat a Gulf Coast Toad (Incilius valliceps). Notice how the toad has inflated its body making it harder if not impossible for the snake to swallow it. Stunning capture of this predator and prey in a struggle....amazing Stanley!!!! Came across a rat snake swallowing a garden lizard once but there was no clear shot!!!

Yoiks!!!! He'll never open his mouth wide enough to swallow that toad, surely Stanley.... did he finally give up do you know?

That is a wonderful action shot, Stanley.Could do with this type of work in Australia,with regards to introduced Cane Toads,which are killing a lot of our native fauna.
