Red Eyed Vireo and lunch (Vireo olivaceus)

This Vireo has grabbed an Oak Leafshredder caterpillar. Birds like this has saved my oak as these caterpillers have in the past completely defoliated the tree year after year. I feared I'd have to cut it down till this bird and others (chickadees, blue jays, woodpeckers, nuthatches etc.) would come to the tree and hunt these pests down. Now the tree is healthy and thickly leafed out.
