Olive-backed Euphonia (Euphonia gouldi pratermissa) Three subspecies have been described, one has been synonymized leaving two. Only subspecies pratermissa is mapped for Costa Rica. Photographed near Sarapiqui, Heredia Province, Costa Rica. Caribbean slope at 41 m (137 ft) elevation. Lowland wet rainforest.

Three super colourful little birds, in three super colourful images, good job Stan.
 
What a special little bird. You did a great job getting this one - I can imagine the conditions for photography were not ideal, but the flash was set perfectly to highlight the bird. Really nice.
