Mountain Velvetbreast male & female compared ECUAD SER (Lafresnaya lafresnayi)

Comparison of male (left) and female (right) Mountain Velvetbreast. Taken 3 & 5 Nov 2009, respectively, at ~8700 ft asl at Guango Lodge feeders, surrounded by temperate montane forest on east slope of Andes in northern Ecuador. Male is a composite image: head from one photo, body from another. Most obvious near-horizontal linear feature in feathers is not the line of junction.
