McCaig's Tower

Every time I've been to Oban, I've seen this monument and wanted to explore it, but never got round to it. When you're down in the town it seems to be on the skyline, not half way up the hill as shown here.

We did visit it a couple of days later. It was a project to employ the local stonemasons when there was little other work for them.

Interesting story! Was intrigued by your post and looked it up. Learned it was meant to contain a gallery, an inner tower and more, but was never finished and is now a park. See any birds up there?

Brilliant colourful scene you have of the tower Delia. Brings back memories of my last visit to Oban, well done.

Very beautiful scene , shot and place dear Delia , but we are destroying beautiful nature by making buildings , factories and other plants on earth ! I do not think 100 years later next generations see much beautiful scenes like this !
