The males are showy, but I feel the females are so neat and understated. LOL I think I prefer them!

Hope you don't mind but I've added the scientific name to your picture details and the tags, this allows a link to the Opus article and for the Gallery Search to find your picture when someone looks for the species. It would be such a shame if your images were not available for people to view.

I've more recently started to prefer the look of the females too. I don't mine you adding any of this useful information.

This is the only time I've seen a pair of mandarin ducks locally, and they were the only ones here. In my hometown, I've seen just one female on her own in the past with a load of mallards which seems a bit strange.
