Male Dotterel (Charadrius morinellus)

Slightly less colourful than the female, but still a fabulous looker. A biting northerly wind was keeping it hidden in the grass, rather than standing on open ground which is their normal habit.

Long Mynd, Shrops.
Date taken
May 2010

Charadrius morinellus

Superb capture, Iv'e yet to see one, never mind photograph it. Well done.

What a great bird to see and even better to photograph. Beautiful detail and colours. An absolute cracker Mike.
