Lewin's honeyeater (Meliphaga lewinii)

Although not uncommon, the Lewin's honeyeater is usually seen amongst dense shrubbery or tall trees while feeding. Rather noisy due to poor light, but I was pleased to get a clear shot which I haven't previously managed of this species.
Habitat
Native bushland
Location
Gold Coast
Date taken
28 Jun 2013
Scientific name
Meliphaga lewinii
Equipment used
Nikon D90, Sigma 150-500mm
Coudn't get a shot of the Lewins today Kerrie it was spending all of it's time chasing the smaller Honeyeaters out of the Paperbark.

Kerrie, just looked in your gallery, beautiful image of a bird I would love to see, first-hand!
Thanks for sharing!

Quite the intense look it's giving you, as in "WHAT are you doing snooping on me?!?"
