Lesser Moorhen
Andy Adcock

Lesser Moorhen (Paragallinula angulata)

Small, reclusive Moorhen., narrower white streak along the side than Common Moorhen , a mostly yellow bill, and all-yellow legs.. Found in wetlands, especially grassy, seasonally flooded ones, shy and retiring.

This bird spent a lot of time in the poolside vegetation behaving more like a Crake than Moorhen, rarely entering open water. Surprising how many people needed this bird on their Wold lists, including me.
