Hummingbird Clearwing Moth
Hummingbird Clearwing Moth also known as Snowberry Clearwing. I have even heard it called Bumble-bee Mimic (Hemaris thysbe: Sphingidae) The small Sphingidae has a wingspan of 4.0-5.5 cm (1.6-2.2 in). Nectaring Glossy Abelia (Abelia x grandiflora: Caprifoliaceae).
Habitat
Rolling hills with planted trees, shrubs, and herbs at 167 m (548 ft) elevation.
Location
Carleen Bright Arboretum, Waywood, McLennan County, Texas, USA.

marvelous portrait of this colorful little beauty, Stanley!!! superb details and great setting. we have a similar species over here. it regularly hovers around the lavender flowers in our garden, a real pleasure to watch. first rate photo, many tfs!!!
