Humming-bird Hawk-moth (Macroglossum stellatarum)

We first saw one of these on a walk up to Ali Pashas castle where they seemed to be everywhere. But after a couple of days the weather changed and we did not see any again. This was taken in the garden of the apartments, but they decided winter was coming and pulled up all the flowering bushes ready to replant for next year.

Location
Parga Greece
Scientific name
Macroglossum stellatarum
Equipment used
Canon 350D Canon 55-200@200mm 1/1000 F6.3 ASA1600
Beautiful shot and so difficult to capture. Detail still there despite noise @ 1600 ASA. Very well done. (y)

Thanks for your comments, It did have a very light noise reduction filter applied but it is just amazing how quiet these Canon sensors are at high ASA settings.
