Hackberry Butterfly (Asterocampa celtis: Nymphalidae) Wingspan 5.1-6.4 cm (2.0-2.5 in).
Habitat
South Texas Plains vegetation area, Lower Rio Grande Valley, adjacent to the Rio Grande, Tamaulipan thornscrub riparian with native wildflower and shrub plantings to attract butterflies and birds at ca. 43 m (140 ft) elevation.
Location
National Butterfly Center, Mission, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA.
