Giant Lichen Orbweaver (Araneus bicentarius: Araneidae) Females range in size from 1.3-2.8 cm (0.5-1.1 in) while males are ca. 0.7 cm (0.28 in) long. Photographed just north of Bastrop, Bastrop County, Texas, USA. Post Oak Savannah Vegetational Area in post oak/yaupon dominated creek riparian at ca. 112 m (367 ft) elevation.

Goodness me, what an interesting creature. Such a pretty body and legs. Not sure I would want to meet one close up, though!
