Female dipper.

First a massive thanks for all your Birthday greetings on yesterdays Creeper post.

Last Dipper image of the season. Her partner died and she was unable to feed four chicks on her own. According to Steph my friend who rings them only 25% of Dippers have second broods and few of those actually fledge, sad but true.

A sad story but a superb image of this lovely bird. I love the sparkling water and the green moss in the background. A lovely catch light in her eye too. Very nice indeed Ken. I hope they have better luck next year.

Those are not great statistics I'm afraid.

This is a beautiful closeup of this Dipper cousin.

A stunning capture to go with your sad tale, Ken. As they say, that's life in the real world.

A sad story but a wonderul shot Ken, no wonder it's gone quite at the falls. Hope your day went well yesterday.

A lovely image Ken ... the stats u mentioned are disturbing ... but is it possible they may change from area to area ? ... I wish they are better in some other parts ....

A sad story but a very nice photo. It is hard to find a nice background for these birds. You did it very well. The sharpness bird is shown with makes the photo even better.

Congratulations,
Cristian
