Dolphin Gull
I think the combination of red orbital ring outlined by white and red bill gives this distinctive gull a somewhat crazed look. This is an adult in breeding plumage They are endemic to the coasts of Patagonia in southern South America. Although formerly placed with other gulls in the genus "Larus," historically it was placed in its own genus, "Gabianus." See SACC Proposal 250 for details on current classification in "Leucophaeus." Formerly called Scoresby's Gull.
