Coopers Hawk (Female) (Accipiter cooperii)

All the feeding activity in the yard has attracted the female Coopers hawk. I get one of these every winter. This is one of the largest females (females run larger than males, as a general rule) that I've ever recorded.

A great picture this Mark - very well done lad.
 
Such a beautiful capture of this female. You've captured that tip of the tail well. I still have trouble with identifying my young sharpies and cooper's.
