Confusing
This was the third heron or egret species we found on that stretch of river that day. There was a little distance between them, but I'm still surprised to see them like that.

This is my old friend the White-faced Heron, one of the first I saw on my first day out on Ken's patch at Wellington Beach.

So what's confusing.... well.... the Great Egret and Intermediate Egret are in the ardea family, along with the White-necked Heron, and our Grey Heron but the White-faced Heron is an egretta where it joins Little Egret.

Lol, I see the confusion D! Great to see three species of heron/egret in a short distance. Lovely capture and picture showing that long stride. TFS!
