Common toad and humans (Bufo bufo)

I took this pic four days ago. They left the pond three weeks ago. Between the gravel path and the pond is a wild meadow. It means this toad and a second one that I saw that day spent three weeks in the wild meadow before they came out (my pic) to reach other places in the park. People are advised to not enter the meadow. Instead do they run around for photos, let their kids play in the meadow and take home wild flowers. Thousands of these toads, size smaller than an inch, stay there for some time. The vegetation is high. People do not realise that they also step on these tiny creatures. To call these people stupid is maybe harsh but their greed for wild flowers, kills many of these toads. They do not even think of this. The official authorities tolerate this behaviour. This is what I do not understand. Hope my ID is correct.

What a lovely toad, JB. Such a shame people ignore the advice not to enter the meadow.

sounds more like special toads and common people, unfortunately, excellent portrait of this lovely little toad, top class, many tfs!!

A real cutie and a magnificent low camera view close-up JB! I sympathize with you about the irresponsible people. They are rampant over here. TFS!
