common tern

common tern (Sterna hirundo)

My birding pal and I did a little tour arond Bolton and we did the terns at a lake where we met Annette (Psilo). It was damned good to see you Annette! However my 40D is in for repair and I have to rely on my knackered 20D....well it got even more knackered today when it decided not to fire shots at the critical moment and I missed a heap. I'm afraid it is almost useless and gave cause for me to use some bad language (under my breath of course :)). I love terns, they remind me of the hours I used to spend watching them when I fished as a boy.

Sorry to hear about your camera problems Adrian but his catch had to make you feel a bit better ;) Just lovely!

Was good to see you too Adrian I really do need to get out more again. Your camera may not have been performing but this is an ace shot. It is one that I still havent managed to get though I did get the one with the fish in its mouth ;) Later on there was a commotion when a poor innocent very young bh gull tried to land on the raft but I still didnt get the juvenile flight shots I wanted :(
Love the energy coming from this shot, very well done!

This is a pretty amazing picture to have taken with a knackered camera, Adrian. Hope you get your 40D back soon.

Very artistic composition and a super behaviour capture,Adrian :t::t::t:
