Barbed-wired Cactus
Barbed-wired Cactus (Acanthocereus tetragonus: Cactaceae) Sprawling, 2-7 m (6.6-23.0 ft) tall. Flowers 14-20 cm (5.5-7.9 in) in diameter. Fruits red, edible and sweet. Common in the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
Habitat
South Texas Plains vegetation area, mesquite thicket and Tamaulipan thornscrub with planted native shrubs and wildflowers at 30 m (98 ft) elevation.

Edingburg Scenic Wetlands, Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA.

I raise Opuntia for their flowers here, a large bed in an old bathtub, I won't have flowers until late May, but they don't compare to this beautiful plant, so very nice these are Stanley!
