South Texas Plains vegetation area, Lower Rio Grande Valley, adjacent to the Rio Grande, Tamaulipan thornscrub riparian at ca. 59 m (193 ft) elevation, margin of the Rio Grande with small patches of coastal prairie.

Salineño Wildlife Preserve, Salineño, Starr County, Texas, USA.
