Plumed Basilisk Lizard Female
Plumed Basilisk (Basiliscus plumifrons: Corytophanidae) female. Another common name is Green Basilisk, it also goes by a few other common names. They get to 25.4 cm (10 in) long from snout to vent but overall they reach lengths of 91.4 cm (36 in). The tail makes a little over 70% of its total length.
Habitat
Floodplain of Río San Carlos, Caribbean lowlands, humid rainforest with large areas cleared for agriculture at 39 m (128 ft) elevation. Margin of a wetland abutting a lagoon.
Location
Road from Boca Tapada to Laguna del del Lagarto Lodge, Alajuela Province, Costa Rica near the Nicaraguan border.
