Osprey overhead (Pandion haliaetus)

Osprey hovering, but I guess it decided I wasn't a fish, nor was I scaring up any other catchable wildlife, so it moved on.

Fabulous picture of this Osprey searching for lunch! It stands out beautifully against that lovely blue sky. TFS Doc! Your question about how close the Northern Harrier was carrying her prey I can't answer. I rarely see them carrying prey. But it does make sense for her to be carrying it close-in protecting it from the RTH.
