White-bellied Woodstar

White-bellied Woodstar (Chaetocercus mulsant)

A higher elevation Woodstar around the flowers and feeders at the Montezuma rainforest reserve (this one near the military base at the top of the drivable track). Despite their diminutive size they are surprisingly bold around other hummers (their initial appearance reminds you more of a bee/large insect than a bird and the speed of their wingbeats makes freezing them in flight very challenging).
