Habitat
Salt farm, mangrove swamp and disturbed Pacific tropical dry forest at ca. 4 m (13 ft) elevation.
Location
Cocas Rocas Road at the salt farm near Chomes, Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica.

excellent portrait of this splendid butterfly, Stanley, lovely with the little red spots, a real topper, many tfs!!

Upper and underside look pretty similar. Wonderful colours, details and capture of this tropical Nymphalidae. The beaches there are of volcanic origin. Remember the black sand and that there are turtle breeding spots on this side of CR ... and that I regularly had Gallo Pinto for breakfast.
