willow tit
one of my all-time favourite birds
Habitat
alpine pine forest at 1750 m altitude
Location
Chamrousse, Isère, France
Date taken
11 November 2022
Scientific name
Poecile montanus
Such sweet birds! They even have the cooperative inclination to announce their impending arrival so we can have our cameras ready, focused on their "waiting room" landing branch before they move on to the feeder.

We see birds‘ reflections on water, but not so often a dramatic shadow like this! A bird with real character. And those lichens are amazing. Excellent work JJ.
