Autumn - waders waiting (Limosa limosa, Calidris alpina)

Two waders were a bit late on their southward migration. I caught them waiting out the high tide, and perhaps also waiting for favorable winds. They seemed to be sheltering together for shared comfort and safety, but that rock was one of the few still above water just then, so perhaps their proximity was simply a matter of practicalities.

Immediately checked the date. Interesting info about their migration and a wonderful capture of these two so close together.
