Great lighting and pose in this razor-sharp shot. Like others above, I adore the fringed black and white crest feathers and the fiery maroon eye. The head looks even better when I zoom it significantly, which is not often the case in such photos.

A lovely shot of this charming little tit JJ, not so often gracing the Gallery, with your trademark wealth of fine detail.

(I’ve seen them only once, in Scotland, 1983. A lightweight 21st century bridge camera would have helped! but there are the memories)
