Green Hoverfly (Ornidia obesa: Syrphidae) also known as the Green Jewel Fly 2.3-4.2 mm (0.09-0.17 in) long.
Habitat
South Texas Plains vegetation area, Mesquite thicket and Tamaulipan thornscrub with planted native shrubs and wildflowers at 30 m (98 ft) elevation.
Location
Edingburg Scenic Wetlands, Edinburg, Hidalgo County, Texas, USA.
