Making our way slowly along the road home, I spotted this Meadow Pipit sitting on a fence wire.

A very lovely image of this Meadow Pipit D!

How do they not hurt themselves landing on those spiky wires?

LOL I've no idea KC - wish I knew their secret.

BTW first attempt at uploading this picture failed. Just wouldn't do anything. So I went into a new tab. Just put the picture and title on, which worked. then edited to add everything else. Don't know what was going on there.

Good shot Delia! I was thinking along the same lines as KC, it's odd to see a bird more at home on grasses etc parking itself on barbed wire. But birds always seem to manage: their feet are clearly much more versatile than ours. It recalls this heron from 2016.

Thanks John. Somewhere I've got a picture of a cormorant on a power line. Can't remember if I uploaded it to the Gallery or a thread I did of that trip.

I'm sure we will be running into random glitches from time to time.

What a sweet picture of him perched on the barbed wire. Isn't it interesting how the backgrounds come out in our pictures? Suddenly the trees and hill are just a colored blur. I had a roof one time as a background it made a beautiful blue blur that enhanced the photo.
