SF - Quiet down there! I'm trying to sleep up here! (Podargus strigoides)

Another tourist spotted this Tawny Frogmouth in the Botanic Garden in Sydney, just as I was checking out the Pied Currawongs in a tree just a few feet away. I saw the commotion (several people moving closer to a shrubby tree with cameras drawn) and went over to see what they'd found. The frogmouth was probably pretty irritated by all the attention, but - being by nature a stoic, at least during the day - just sat there unmoving aside from blinking now and then, and waited for the commotion to pass. We couldn't get closer to him, after all, without cutting down branches from the tree, and none of us were parks gardeners so we weren't allowed to do anything of the sort.

As Graham says.... a wonderful bird to find in a city park!!! What a grand tale you had to tell about your sighting of him too.

That park must be full of birdwatchers LOL.
