We were looking for a trail our B&B host had recommended, but stopped a bit too late. Still, it was a promising wetland, so I took a few minutes to scan the meanders near the pullout while husband photographed the views. Among some mallards some distance down the stream, I saw something else, zoomed in, then tiptoed down the road to get closer, and waited patiently for this one good shot when one of the two Sora appeared right in the window I had to view the meander from between some shrubs. Then we turned back and found the right trail, which was a lovely walk and got me two other lifers - one wildflower (fringed gentian) and distant views of a raft of Barrow's Goldeneye (got closer views the next day at a beaver-dammed stream in Grand Tetons).
And now to continue browsing until bedtime.
