A day at the beach - Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias)

So this was a first for me.....this Blue Heron, was playing in the surf break grabbing some of the small surf perch. It would run out right after the wave crashed, and hunt the water as it ran back out. It did real well, catching several small ones in the 30 minutes or so that I watched. On a side note, just 200 yards down the beach, there were surfers playing in the waves as well!
