Wearing gloves, see?
Saw this sneaky raccoon stealing bird (or squirrel) snacks someone had tossed by a lake in Golden Gate Park yesterday. He was so bold he scared me. They can be viscious animals, and if they seem "tame" it may be a sign of rabies, so when he came towards me I was prepared to run. But I guess he was only begging. Or showing off how clever he was at not leaving fingerprints at the site of the crime ;) He went back to foraging bread crumbs and seeds, then suddenly took off and swam to a little island. Seconds later another walker came along, together with a big dog. My guess was that the raccoon smelled or heard the dog and took off. He was clearly not scared of people ... which is probably not a good thing. I don't think the park managers are happy to have a people-fearless raccoon in a popular area of the park.
