Himalayas - 133
A Lifer ...

A rarity in this part
of Himalayas ...
... and at the Forum
as well ... only third
image here ...

... and first from
India ...

More common in the
North-eastern hilly
region of India ... and
areas close to
Indo-Myanmar border ...
more than 2500 km from
our place ...

In field situation it
may pose some
difficulty in
differentiating it from
Slaty-backed Forktail ...
( Link : http://www.birdforum.net/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=530394

The latter is a
lightly hued bird ...
whereas
this one has a fairly
dark head and mantle ...

With this...
we have seen and shared
4 out of 5 types of
Forktails found
in India ... the
remaining one we are
unlikely to see in a
hurry ... as it is
restricted to
the remote locale
I mentioned above ...
... Politically unstable
International boundary

Luckily, we could do
a small video-clip
of this individual
... before it flew-off
abruptly ...
