White-Throated Sparrow & Chipping Sparrow (Zonotrichia albicollis, Spizella passerina)

I had to puzzle over my shots from this morning for quite some time because I didn't realize that a male White-Throated sparrow could have so much yellow on him! For a while I thought he was a species of warbler, so if anyone has a different idea for his ID, I would love to hear it! We seem to have a pair of White-Throateds along with a pair of Chippings at the feeders now. It seems a little late in the season to still have White-Throateds here, but perhaps they are migrants, just passing through and resting a while before they head north.

What a lovely double-catch and in such a pretty setting too.

Happy birthday to you Adele.... I hope you have a lovely day.

A wonderful image Adele! A great twosome here, and that's about as much yellow that I've ever seen.

Brilliant capture and picture of these two sparrow species. You can really see just how small chippers are. Beautiful work Adele!!!!
