Blue Dasher (female) (Pachydiplax longipennis)

Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis: Libellulidae) Female, species sexually dimorphic. This is likely our (my area of Texas) most abundant dragonfly. If not, then the Eastern Pond Hawk is. Both species are quite abundant. Female, species sexually dimorphic. This small dragonfly species has a total length of 2.8-4.5 cm (0.39-1.80 in). Photographed in Bee Creek Park, College Station, Brazos County, Texas, USA. Disturbed post oak/yaupon woodland associated with Bee Creek at ca. 81 m (266 ft) elevation.
