A dull day over the Sound.

A dull day over the Sound.

King George Sound was named by the explorer George Vancouver in September 1791 after King George III.
It was from here that the Australian and New Zealand troops sailed from in 1914 to the war in Europe. They became known as the ANZAC forces and fought with great gallantry at Gallipoli. The first ever Dawn Service was held on Mt Clarence which overlooks the Sound on 25-04-1925

A wonderful view this Alex. Such interesting history about the bay too, thanks.

Even in grey weather, it's still a stunning view. Love the wildflowers in the foreground too. |=)|
