Blackcap

Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla)

I have always found Blackcaps very elusive. I spent several days trying to nail this bird and this was probably the best image I managed to get. It sang high in the canopy most of the time but on a couple of occasions it popped out so close to sing I could have tapped it on the head. I just remained still and enjoyed the moments. The image is full frame.

Terrific full-frame Blackcap image, Adrian! I've got very close on a couple of occasions this year but haven't managed to get the shots.

The lighting, the bokeh, the pose, they all come together in this wonderful image Adrian.

Awesome profile of this tiny bird. Beautiful lighting & bg, you've done very well!

A real beauty Adrian, lovely pose and cracking detail. Don't we love it when they're co-operative?
