Northern Waterthrush
Northern Waterthrush (Parkesia noveboracensis noveboracensis) Three subspecies have been described including the nominate. Some authors synonymize subspecies notabilis and limnaeus under the nominate while others recognize all three subspecies. Regardless, the wintering bird in Costa Rica is the nominate. Photographed near Buenos Aires, Cordillera de Guanacaste, north-slope of Rincon de La Vieja Volcano, Caribbean-slope, Costa Rica. Lower montane cloud forest at ca. 650 m (2,133 ft) elevation.
