Northern Waterthrush (Parkesia noveboracensis)

Northern Waterthrush (Parkesia noveboracensis noveboracensis) Three subspecies have been described including the nominate. Some authors synonymize subspecies notabilis and limnaeus under the nominate while others recognize all three subspecies. Regardless, the wintering bird in Costa Rica is the nominate.
